Theresa Carter Fine Art

I am a Santa Barbara native and firstborn of seven children. Tutored by artistic parents as a means of keeping us both quiet and entertained, we were exposed to their favored forms of artistic expression. As a family of mixed cultural heritage, our home was filled with classical, ethnic and modern art, which was often the source of discussion. Emphasis on creativity and Santa Barbara’s natural and architectural beauty has provided me with the inspiration to create and love art.

Although art has always been an integral part of my education, career goals took me down other paths of study. I studied science, architecture, and art at SBCC, UCSB, WLAC, and UCLA. Once my formal career was established, I returned to painting in 1987 and began exhibiting in 1989.  My paintings have primarily been exhibited in California, however, collectors are both national and international.

Recently I was one of 9 artist-owners of The Project Fine Art Zone Gallery in Santa Barbara, California. The non-profit gallery benefited GIRLS INC.

Currently I am focusing on making art, archival prints and note cards.
